More information

Astanga Vinyasa Yoga is a more intense style of yoga and is practiced in its correct sequencial order, it takes the practicioner to discover gradually their entire potencial throughout all the levels of human conciousness - Physical, psychological and spiritual. through the practice of correct breathing(Ujjayi Pranayama) and of correct postures (asanas), gain control of the sences and a deep knowledge of yourself.

Maintaining this discipline with regularity, you will obtain a better body and mind conscistency.

Astanga means "eight members" told by Patanjali as: Yama (abstinence), Nivama (observancy), Asana (postures), Prnayama (breathing control), Pratyahara (sense of retreat), Dhrana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (contemplation). Each one of these branches supports the other.

Asana practice should be established to a correct practice of breathing, being the key for the development of abstinences and observances. As soon as these external 4 branches are well implanted, the last four members, internally oriented, will show up naturally with time.

Jovita Bacelar

Yoga crossed my path over two decades when I had the opportunity of praticing with several teachers in Denmark and Germany as well as to deepen my knowledge in some of my trips to India, Nepal and Thailand. But was in Portugal that the true meaning of yoga unfolded before me. In 2018 I finished my first course of one year of yoga teachers, certified by the Yoga Alliance, and immediatelly I started 2 more years of study of yoga and vedānta with the teacher Miguel Homem. This course also gave me the opportunity of learning with the teachers Tomás Zorzo, Pedro Kupfer and Simão Monteiro and vedānta with the teacher Gloria Arieira

I continue to study vedānta with Miguel Homem.

I apreciate the astanga dynamic that is part of my daily practice. Since 2019 I started 2 years of study in astanga e pranayama with the teacher Kia Naddermier in Paris.

My Hatha yoga classes are dynamic and a reflexion of traditional disciplines -  Hatha, Iyengar and Aṣṭaṅga together with the influence of some modern techniques, and meditation moments, reflection and pranayama, always adapted to the capabilities of each student.

In Yoga and meditation I found answers for a more meaningful and consciencious life.
